Yesterday, I-35 Juniors attended a College Fair at Simpson college. There were over sixty college and career professionals in attendance. These juniors represented I-35 proudly!

Select 7th and 8th grade students attended our WCAC Conference Honor Choir at Des Moines Christian School Monday, February 27. We had a full afternoon of rehearsals and a concert in the evening.

Intensity Camp Day 1
I-35 7th graders are in the middle of their epidemic unit in ELA. They have used text evidence to support the habits of characters the epidemiologists have in order to fight the diseases and help citizens around them. For the past week they have been studying Typhoid. The students are using evidence from the book to argue whether or not Mary Mallon “Typhoid Mary” was a victim of an unjust society or was a villain who knew she was spreading Typhoid wherever she went. There have been great conversation to support both sides of this argument!
Last night's Family Game Night: Minute to Win It! set a record for our most attended Family Night! Let's top it off next month for our last one this year, The Amazing Race. More information will come in the next few weeks. Thank you all for your support and attendance! You're helping students in our district grow as leaders!

Great learning happening in Mrs. Megger's classes! 8th graders were doing comparative anatomy to analyze body form and function to compare an contrast with seemingly unrelated species and 7th graders are exploring the interactions of non-living and living parts of ecosystems.

I-35 Spanish student are currently doing a letter exchange with a school in Seville, Spain. Today they received their first letters from their new friends! What a great opportunity to practice their Spanish!
