Yesterday, Reagan and Brianna competed in Marshalltown for the Iowa High School Battle of the Books. In order to qualify for the grand battle they had to place in the top 4. Brianna and Reagan ended up tying with two other teams for 4th place. The top 3 teams earned 65 points and all tied. Reagan and Brianna had 64 points. After completing a short answer response for the tie breaker they ended up in 5th place in the state as a team two. They were the only team of two, all other teams that attended were teams of 5 or 6.
Great job, Roadrunners!

Mark your calendars! The I-35 Drama Department is proud to present "Murder on the 518" on Friday, May 5 at 7:00 pm and again on Saturday, May 6 at 2:00 pm.
Red-eye travelers on the westbound 518 are in for a surprise when first one passenger, and then another, mysteriously drop dead right before their eyes — and just as the train is halted by a rock slide in an isolated canyon. Because the pair appears to have been poisoned, anyone and everyone in the train dining car is a suspect!
(Murder on the 518 by Michelle Giles produced by special arrangement with Pioneer Drama Services, Denver, CO.)
Last night's School Board Meeting is available on the I-35 YouTube channel: https://youtu.be/8nwFojUR9lQ

Dress warm for today's walk. It looks like it might be chilly.
Please help us support our efforts in raising funds for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). We will be selling paper JDRF shoes for $1 each during the week of April 24th- 28th. These will be for sale in classrooms (elementary) and each office (MS/HS). Our goal is to sell enough shoes to line the hallways of the entire school! Proceeds will be given to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

8th grade students worked to spruce up the City of Truro today. This community service project is just one way I-35 staff helps promote good citizenship among students. Special thanks to Dan Hutton, Brett Jones, Joe Vander Werf, Samantha Hough, Jamie Rucker, Judy McDonald, and Brooke Maxwell for volunteering their time to support our students.
