Activities for the week of May 13:

The Interstate 35 High School Concert Band travelled to Roland-Story City High School on Saturday to participate in the IHSMA Large Group Contest. 2A Bands from across the state performed in front of a panel of 3 judges to earn a Division Rating of 1 through 5, with 1 being the best. We earned a Division 2 in our first time at Large Group in many years, matching the rating achieved by bands more than twice our size! And we were only 2 points off of a Division 1! Congratulations to the High School Band on a successful concert season!

Happy School Principal's Day! Take a minute and say thank you to our Roadrunner Principals who look after your children every day. They guide the academic success for our kids and set the tone for an entire school. Thank you, Mr. Beckel, Ms. Whitson, and Ms. Woods!

Due to the high school conference meet being moved to today, the youth track clinic is cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Make plans to attend the I-35 Spring Choir Concert on Friday, May 3 at 6:30 pm in the I-35 Auditorium!

Activities Schedule:

Last Saturday, Interstate 35 Students participated in the Himie Voxman 5th and 6th Grade Honor Band in Centerville. Students learned from some amazing band directors with other band students from across the south central Iowa region. They finished the day with an amazing concert, thanks for your dedication to band!

Congratulations to Reagan Trost, Brianna Fantz, and Macy Flaherty for their remarkable achievement in securing 2nd place in the statewide Iowa High School Battle of the Books competition held in Marshalltown on April 24! Despite being the smallest team, they demonstrated exceptional dedication and knowledge by answering questions from 25 books they've read throughout the school year. Their representation of I-35 was outstanding, and they should be proud of their accomplishment. The fact that they each received a signed copy of "The Words We Keep" and won nine books for the district is truly impressive. Way to go, ladies!
