If your student turned in their Book It! calendars for every month, October through March, be watching for an invitation and information about a pizza party in May. Keep on reading! On Wednesday, April 24th, middle school students spent the afternoon learning a variety of careers at Career Exploration Afternoon. Students met with community professionals and industry leaders from a variety of career fields. Professionals shared their insights and experiences with our students. I35 is so blessed to have an incredibly supportive community who are willing to spend time with our students
Throughout the day, students attended various presentations and workshops, getting a taste of different jobs and careers. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and even got hands-on experiences through sessions like photography, agriculture, as well as robotics - just to name a few.
By the end of the day, students left with a better understanding of different career pathways and what it takes to succeed. It was a successful event that opened up new possibilities for our middle school students. We're excited to see where their newfound knowledge takes them in the future.

Congratulations to Reagan Trost, Brianna Fantz, and Macy Flaherty for their remarkable achievement in securing 2nd place in the statewide Iowa High School Battle of the Books competition held in Marshalltown on April 24! Despite being the smallest team, they demonstrated exceptional dedication and knowledge by answering questions from 25 books they've read throughout the school year. Their representation of I-35 was outstanding, and they should be proud of their accomplishment. The fact that they each received a signed copy of "The Words We Keep" and won nine books for the district is truly impressive. Way to go, ladies!
