I-35 Elementary is hosting a silent pie auction fundraiser at the Sept. 20th home football game to boost funds for Character Development and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) efforts. The auction table will be live starting 6:30 p.m. and will close at half-time. (7:45 p.m. approximately). Winners should plan to pick up their pie at half-time. Parents/Guardians,
I am writing to inform you about an incident that occurred earlier today at school. A small grease fire broke out in our Family and Consumer Science (FCS) classroom. Fortunately, it was quickly contained, and no one was injured.
Out of an abundance of caution, we immediately evacuated the building to ensure the safety of all students and staff. While our fire alarms were activated, we discovered that they malfunctioned during the evacuation process. As a result, an announcement was made over the intercom system instructing everyone to safely exit the building.
Please be assured that the issue with the fire alarm system has since been identified and resolved, and it is now functioning properly. We are working closely with our safety and maintenance teams to ensure that all safety protocols continue to meet the highest standards.
We are grateful for the calm and cooperation of our students and staff during the evacuation, and we are confident that our safety procedures were followed effectively.
