2024 Score: 64.62
1-Year Gain: +7.48 points
Rating: Commendable
Progress Summary: Interstate 35 High School has demonstrated a strong gain from their 2021 score (-1.7 beneath the state average) to a positive +3.6 above the state average in 2024. This improvement reflects successful strategies in proficiency and growth.
Middle School
2024 Score: 66.90
1-Year Gain: +7.43 points
Rating: Commendable
Progress Summary: The Interstate 35 Middle School showed impressive improvement with their 2024 scores coming in at +6.0 above the state average. In 2021, the middle school was performing at -1.1 under the state average. Interstate 35 Middle School continues to make strides in closing achievement gaps.
Elementary School
2024 Score: 70.12
1-Year Gain: +11.75 points
Rating: High Performing
Progress Summary: The Elementary School had an outstanding performance, moving from a challenging -5.7 below the state average in 2021 to being +9.1 above the state average in 2024. This places the school firmly in the “High Performing” category, among the state’s top achievers.
Comparing I-35 to Statewide Averages
While the entire state of Iowa also reports gains across multiple indicators, the Interstate 35 district consistently exceeds state benchmarks. For example, the “statewide average score” across all levels remains in the mid-60s, but I-35's scores surpass or match these averages while showing stronger year-over-year growth.

As Interstate 35 builds on these achievements, the district remains focused on continued growth and success for our students. We work closely as a staff to find ways to help our students connect to the learning material, to their teachers and to each other. Doing so, allows students to strive for their fullest potential.
