Girls on the Run: Unlocking Potential Through Empowerment and Activity
Girls on the Run a registered non-profit organization that offers transformative programs designed to help young girls unlock their inner strength and potential. By combining physical activity with dynamic, evidence-based lessons, this program inspires 3rd-5th graders to build confidence and develop crucial life skills.
Meeting in small teams twice a week, participants engage in activities that focus on understanding themselves, valuing relationships, and recognizing their ability to influence the world around them. The program culminates in a non-competitive 5K event, offering a tangible sense of accomplishment. This final run symbolizes the growth each girl has achieved throughout the season, empowering her to confidently take charge of her own story.
Girls on the Run is more than just a running program—it's a pathway to unlocking the power and potential within every participant.
Girls on the Run of Central Iowa is an affiliate council of Girls on the Run International which has a network of over 200 councils across 50 states and the District of Columbia.
